THRESHOLD Scrow Chase guide
Check the entrance and stairs briefly, then search the upstairs food court. If papers are still missing, extend the sweep into the stair connections and market. Gather your own round’s digits before entering the exit password.

The search order
- As the opening cutscene ends, orient yourself at the entrance and stairs. The creator demonstrates a quick check beside and under the stair area.
- Go upstairs to the food court. Look for the small glow the papers emit, rather than searching every dark surface equally.
- Use your paper counter to decide when to widen the route. The recording shows both concentrated and spread-out layouts.
- If the food court is short, check the stair connections and market edges, including the back of the market. Avoid unnecessary repeat sweeps.
- Read all the current digits, reach the exit keypad, type them and confirm with Enter on the demonstrated PC interface. Then leave the keypad and complete the exit.
Keep the search visible
The creator also picks up batteries along the food-court search to see the remaining paper. Collect reachable supplies while continuing the sweep and watch the displayed resource state. The narration mentions two or three batteries in its examples; those are recording-specific choices, not a required loadout or fixed battery duration. Batteries improve preparation but do not count as password papers.
The creator notes missing an approach while game volume was down. Keep game audio audible while learning the pursuit, and distinguish listening to game sounds from transmitting your microphone. This observation does not establish a hearing radius or a rule that the monster cannot see.
Missing paper or rejected code?
| Problem | What to check | Useful next move |
|---|---|---|
| Not enough papers | Current counter and areas not yet searched. | Widen the sweep before returning to the keypad. |
| Enough papers but entry rejected | Current digits, order and typing. | Re-read and re-enter carefully. |
| Keypad accepted but run continues | Exit interaction and whether you are still focused on the keypad. | Return to movement and finish the exit. |
| A slow clear | Search revisits, placement, loadout and typing. | Practice the part that consumed time. |
Use the password from this attempt
4877 appears in one demonstrated attempt. It is not a reusable answer or a reward code. Collection and entry solve your current round; copying somebody else’s digits skips the important part.
Understand the speedrun conditions
Hackesez’s narrated demonstration uses Godspeed and treats paper placement as a major source of variation. The wider-search example finishes at about 1:02; the creator’s faster-time claims describe their own runs. Your placement, setup and inputs can differ. A repeatable escape is a better first practice target than a guaranteed sub-minute time.
| Practice focus | Measure |
|---|---|
| Search order | Which area produced your last paper? |
| Scanning | Did you miss a visible glow on the first sweep? |
| Keypad | Did you arrive with the digits already clear? |
| Loadout | Was the same perk equipped in each compared run? |

Common questions
Does every paper spawn upstairs?
No such guarantee is supported. The demonstrated route widens into other areas when the food court is short.
Do I need Godspeed to finish?
The speedrun demonstration equips it; that does not establish it as a requirement for an ordinary clear. Learn the search and exit with your current loadout.
